Description :- The instrument is used to determine consistency of Lubricating grease, Bitumen, Petroleum Jelly, Cosmetics and other Semi-solid and other semi-solid substances by Penetration of Cone/needle at specified temperatures under controlled Laboratory conditions. The Standard Cone or needle – attached with plunger is released for 5 seconds. The Dial scale ranges from 0 to 400 mm Calibrated in 1/10 th of millimeter. It has timer resolution of 0.1 sec, Plunger weight = 47.5g, Standard Cone = 102.5g and Needle = 2.5g. The assembly is mounted on a rod with a Knob provided for adjustment of the Cone/needle to the surface of the sample.
